Examples of documents that CANNOT be Notarized:

Certifeid copies of Birth Certificates (This is a publically recordable document, A certified copy of a recordable document may be obtained by contacting the recording entity)

Certifeid copies of Death Certificates (This is a publically recordable document, A certified copy of a recordable document may be obtained by contacting the recording entity)

Certifeid copies of Marriage Licenses (This is a publically recordable document, A certified copy of a recordable document may be obtained by contacting the recording entity)

Documents with blanks (Documents with blanks that are not applicable or to be intentionally left blank should be marked N/A by the signer)

Photographs (Photographs themselves are not listed in Texas statute for allowable notarization but, it is permissible to notarize a statement about a photograph with the photograph as an attachment.

Backdate or forward date a notarization (The document itself may have a back or forward date but the notary signature and seal will bear the actual date of the notorial act.

Faxed or copied signatures (Faxed or photocopies of signatures are never allowed to be notarized)

Documents with Names that don’t match (The name on the document MUST match the name on your ID.)
